Common questions

Nappies and diapers have no restrictions in carry-on or checked baggage, so screeners will wave them through without any issue regardless of quantity. You may be asked to place a very bulky nappy bag separately on the X-ray belt for a clearer image, but nothing will be confiscated or questioned.

Nappies themselves are unrestricted everywhere. Nappy cream is a gel and subject to the 100ml carry-on limit in all regions including the US, EU, and UK — a standard 100g tube is typically fine, but a large 200g tube will be stopped. Wet wipes are not classified as liquids in most regions and pass through freely in carry-on.

Most airlines permit a reasonable quantity of nappies and baby supplies as additional carry-on items beyond the standard personal item and carry-on bag allowance, particularly for infants travelling as lap children. Policies vary by airline, so check in advance — but in practice, gate agents are generally accommodating when it comes to baby essentials.

Bring more than you think you will need — flight delays, diversions, and connection waits can add several hours to your journey. A common rule of thumb is one nappy per hour of travel time plus a few spares. Nappies compress well and can be vacuum-packed to save space if you are bringing a large supply for a long trip.
