Common questions

If the container is over 100ml, it will be confiscated at the checkpoint. Face cream is classified as a liquid or gel under security rules everywhere, and containers above the 100ml limit are not permitted in carry-on regardless of how much product is actually left in them. The screener will not measure the remaining volume — only the container size matters.

Yes. The US, UK, EU, Australia, and all other regions we cover apply a 100ml per container limit for liquids and gels including face cream. There are no regional exceptions that would allow a larger container of face cream in carry-on. If you need more than 100ml for a trip, pack the rest in your checked bag or buy at your destination.

The 100ml rule for liquids and gels is one of the most consistently enforced security rules worldwide, and face cream is no exception. Screeners do not make allowances for expensive creams or near-empty large containers. If the bottle or jar is labeled over 100ml, expect it to be taken regardless of fill level.

Decant your cream into a travel-size pot or tube labeled 100ml or under before you leave home. Look for reusable silicone travel containers designed for this purpose. Remember that the container itself must hold no more than 100ml — decanting a large amount into a 150ml jar will still result in confiscation.
